Pagan Reality Show (like for Serious)

WitchDoctorJoe is trying to kindle a fire on a pagan reality show. Since I told him that if he posted about it, I'd follow up here, I am doing so.

I am hoping someone will do something with ordinary pagans going about ordinary lives. We'll see.

I don't want any pagan reality shows. Because any effort to show a 'pagan reality' is going to go out of its way to make pagans other than they are. Real "Jersey Shore" people don't really behave like that. They might live louder and crazier than folks in other parts of the country, but they're not that over the top.

All reality TV is, is an effort to cheapen the cost of TV production while create stirring (and somehow 'relevant') visuals that will keep people at home, disconnected and alienated, and continuing to spend money to keep the economy going. Oh, and ignoring how badly the political classes are running the country.

If we're going to have a pagan reality show, let's have it showing a pagan elected to the mayorship or Congress, and trying to work to protect the Earth. Effectively.

I was more than a little snarky in my last comment. My apologies, and thanks for not posting it.

I do not want a Pagan Reality TV show. I don't feel that our cause or or faith or our 'visibility' is helped by allowing a TV network to manage our image for us.

I hope that makes sense.
