Quesiton form Astronaut

"Do you ever get this thing where as soon as you "get somewhere" in the Work, some other part of you seems to take over and back off in fear and force you back? What _is_ that, and how does one get rid of it?"

Yes.

In my opinion that is the guardian of the threshold. I may have the exact term wrong.

To get past it, you keep learning. I am working on some GD techniques now to get past that. Stay tuned and you just may put some things together that could help.

It's nice to have a name for that phenomenon -- many thanks!

It's frustrating (though interesting) that the Guardian is a "necessary obstruction." How long have i worked! and in how many different systems! yet how little progress!

Hitting that guardian, recognizing that it is something and not just something internal is progress. It is more than most humans come across.

It is like being poor in America. Being poor here is being very rich compared to other locals.

(Note: I got the About Robert to change to Robert. I am happy. That was really freakin' annoying.)

Good it's already a sign of some kind of progress -- though just as many Americans would be satisfied with no less than filthy richness, i would be satisfied with no less than apotheosis ;-)

Seriously, this is good stuff, i have something to work with now. Many thanks!
