What the heck am I doing?

I just received a comment from a friend that says since he doesn't do CM that he has no idea what I'm doing. First, allow me to apologize. Sometimes, I write to share specific things other times I hit diary mode, well most of the time. If something needs clarified please let me know and I will usually be happy to, time permitting.

First allow me to describe the scene.

I have a temple room in my home that is either set up with a traditional CM/masonic double-cube altar in the center with four side altars or the full Enochian kit. Check the Enochian tabs to see that if you want.

I am not doing my current work there.

Instead I have a Jason Miller/CM altar. I have a shelf with a white candle for the sephira Keter (unity wiht the all) four other candles on a desk in lower sephirotic colors (yellow, green, orange and purple) and a red candle for the divine earth on the floor.

Also uopn the desk is a black circular mirror handmade by myself. Upon it I have written in white crayon the sigil of the entity I am seeking to contact. To either side of my chair and just behind me are two white candles that illuminate the mirror and my reflection in it. I then enter a trance by gazing at the mirror and calling the entity I want verbally and mentally.

Once the spirit shows up, I test it to make sure it is the right one. Then I simply interact with the spirit in question. My purpose is to break a cycle of thought that is preventing me from growing spiritually and as a magician. I've made great progress in a short period of time. I have hope of making a break through on many levels.

There are some CM tricks to keep the lower entities in line so one doesn't become obsessed as can sometimes happen with unruly spirits.  However, almost any technique used to directly interact with spirits done too often can be problematic. One needs friends to keep an eye out on you. Fortunately, besides the folks here that would notice if I fell off the deep end, I have others that would grab me by the lapels if necessary.

(Someone is going to ask me what those tricks are to keep things in line. Sorry, I keep trying to type that and it keeps going away. I am taking that as a sign to keep my mouth shut. )

So, uh... *cough, cough. Shifty eyes.* What are those CM secrets you mentioned?!

Just to play Devil's Advocate for a moment...

RO's comments about the Black Mirror are really all very good and it's a cause for concern to a degree. But I think it's also important to consider what the Black Mirror is doing in conjunction with the theories of evocation. So, okay. This is just what I think, but here it goes:
With evocation, what you're doing is using trance to align astral space with your present position. The symbols of protection around the circle draw upon the angelic or celestial forces meant to protect you.

The triangle is the symbol of connection to that astral space. Since we want to make sure we're getting what we want, we make use of the right seal, which has the symbols that correspond to "place markers" in the astral space indicating the type of entity. (I'm not sure all Buer's are Buer. Etc.) We also have what they do.

Now, all entities also function as aspects of our own mind. Kether in Malkuth and all that. So we're aligning the same microcosm symbols to the macrocosmic astral ones. If we do it right, we generate the sequence that allows for the process to work.

Why does the Black Mirror bolster this? Because you're aligning the same symbol even deeper, with the visual of your own face. This further empowers the aligning and keeps the "circuit of power," so to speak, closed. What's a side effect? It can hurt you worse. But that's why you've made your tools and learned your symbols, self-made or from a system, and why you've done all that work beforehand just to figure out how to get it to work in the first place.

If you want an evocation to Full Manifestation? I rather think the black mirror is perfect. If you want to distance yourself a bit and have more potential control? Standard circle and triangle is your friend. It's really just what you want. And obsession can occur in any event, regardless of what you're doing. We should observe what they are, and then decide what is more important to us. For some things, you just plain want the Full Manifestation.

The idea behind what I'm talking about:

Frater,

are you using a Poke Runyon's technique (face-reflection-distortion) or non-reflective mirror of Bardon?
It's interesting that you fix the candles. I usually get tired to hold them for 30-40 min or so.

OK..., I have read your previous posts and found that you really used Poke Runyon's method.
Interesting posts...

Just minor comments. You use white chalk to draw sigils. OTA in fact uses black China Marker to draw sigils. They used white or yellow marker in their Vassago DVD but it was made just for video and for its visual effect.
Their technique is great and goes much beyond Goetia. I was communicating both with Poke and some of his accomplished students. They also used the same technique for evocation of Bardon spirits, Enochian Seniors and other systems of spirits. Some of them tried to evoke Santa Claus... and succeeded.
It's interesting that when you get contact with a spirit in their system you get very strong feeling of alien presence...so strong that it's really scary in the beginning.

Actually, I use white crayon to write the sigils on a black mirror. The mirror is the same as can be seen in the picture of the Enochian tools, which can be seen if you click on the Enochian tabs.

I do not see very well magickally, never have. But i do feel and hear. The most I saw out of this technique was a perfect pentagram during the taphthartharath working. I don't think that was him but it was an apt symbol for what I was trying to accomplish.
